Welcome to another great year of exploration

with Unitarian Christian Bible Study!

The Bible Study group meets on Thursday mornings from 10:00-11:30 AM in the Parish Hall of the church. Reverend Caggiano guides us through questions we may have about any topic the group presents relating to Scripture.

This Fall, the group will read the Book of Isaiah.  Written as prophecy, Isaiah is about the trials of Israel in Jerusalem from 745 to 520 B.C.E., Israel’s exile to Babylon, and its return.  And it is about the sometimes harsh and sometimes healing acts of Yahweh in that story of faith.

Our journeys over the last few years have been widespread and diverse, covering everything from the Resurrection to stem cell research to the latest book published on the Gospel of Thomas.

The group is independently directed, sometimes choosing to study one topic for several weeks, and at other times, a different topic each week. Also, we use all the available versions of the Bible, as well as in Hebrew and Greek, to see the subtle and sometimes surprising differences.

This is a congregational activity of The First Church that we have created and not tied to a denominational or national curriculum.
